The Il-76 is a heavy military transport aircraft. It is the first aircraft of its kind in the history of the Soviet Union to be equipped with turbojet engines. Serial production of these machines began 50 years ago. And to this day, it remains the backbone of our country's military transport aviation. Professionals often call it the "workhorse," and even the "veteran that is not retiring." Like other aircraft, it has several modifications. On one of them, for instance, astronauts practice working in zero gravity conditions. Also, based on the Il-76, flying laboratories have been developed for testing advanced engines. The variation Il-76TD stands for "Transport Distant," which means it has increased payload capacity and a longer flight range compared to the Il-76 without this designation.
Mi-8T
If you've ever seen a helicopter in a movie, there's a good chance it was the Mi-8. The Mi-8 is a versatile helicopter developed by Mikhail Leontyevich Mil in the early 1960s. It's one of the most widely produced helicopters in the history of aviation. The "T" in its name stands for "transport." Since its launching into serial production, the Mi-8 has been used by medics, rescuers, firefighters, and the military. This helicopter is used to transport mail or perform construction and installation work in hard-to-reach areas. The Mi-8 is as reliable as it is in demand, with over 100 different modifications and being utilized in 50 countries worldwide. The aviation fleet of Gelix airline includes six Mi-8T helicopter models. Gelix helicopters are based in Perm, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, and Surgut. Gelix crews are on duty as part of search and rescue teams, transport oil company employees to their shifts, provide cargo transportation, and carry tourists to beautiful and remote places in Russia.
Mi-8MTV
The Mi-8MTV is another modification of the Mi-8 helicopters operated by the Gelix airline. The Mi-8MTV primarily follows the design of the Mi-8T helicopter and is a more powerful medium-class helicopter with improved flight and technical characteristics. The key differences from the Mi-8T include a more powerful powerplant, upgraded avionics, and several changes in the fuselage design. This helicopter is particularly in demand among oil workers who transport oversized and non-standard cargo. Due to the powerful engines installed on the Mi-8MTV, it is also used in mountainous terrain and in regions with a hot climate.
